Dr. Tracy DuVernoy is a Veterinary Medical Officer at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on the Coordinated Outbreak Response and Evaluation (CORE) team where she manages and coordinates various activities related to foodborne outbreaks and emergency response. In 2011, she participated in the environmental assessment of the cantaloupe-growing farm in Colorado associated with a nationwide Listeria monocytogenes outbreak. She recently started a 120-day detail position at the FDA Office in Beijing, China as an International Program and Policy Analyst for Foods and Feed.
Dr. DuVernoy received her veterinary medical degree from the University of Florida in 1988 and entered private clinical practice for 8 years, practicing small animal medicine and surgery. She returned to graduate school in 1996 to pursue a Master in Public Health degree at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, and in 1999, became Board-certified in the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. Prior to joining FDA she worked as the Acting State Public Health Veterinarian at the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in addition to positions at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Defense.
